Tom Schönian

About Me

My name is Tom Schönian. Born and raised in Berlin I moved to Hamburg in 2002. After I finished my studies in Media Technology and Production at the TU Ilmenau / Thuringia in 2004 I started my professional career at nhb in 2005.

From there I moved on to Tempomedia Filmproduction where I started as a Production Assistant and soon became Technical Director being responsible for all the inhouse technics mainly the post production equipment. In 6,5 years I got to know all tasks and workflows in a professional commercial film company. Combining high end film shooting with the best possible post production workflow for a perfect result has become my aim during that time!

After that time I wanted to be even more involved in film projects and decided to start as a Postproduction Producer at the former JOTZ! film production nowadays known as Rabbicorn. The goal was to combine inhouse with external post production services depending on the specific project. During that time I worked for clients as VW, Audi, Henkel, Beiersdorf, Red Bull, Ferrero, Reckit Benckiser and much more!

Following that I went to Munich to become Project Manager for Media Asset Management at the Plazamedia Film- & TV Production. Always having interest in media technology I now was responsible for asset management systems and workflows meaning to handle workflows and material for Sky, Sport1, Disney, Constantin Film and others. Although I gained a huge experience in it-based production technology I had to go back to Hamburg which had become a second home to me!

Back in Hamburg I started a new experience in the gaming industry becoming Coordinator for marketing assets at Goodgame Studios. I soon concentrated on our film assets as my main focus and became Producer for films and videos within the highly performance orientated online marketing division!

Now I am here after so many experiences in film & tv production and decided to stand on my own feet and work as Freelance Producer, Postproducer and Systems & Workflow Developer.
